What Happens in a Treatment....
In the initial consultation, the practitioner will take a complete history of signs & symptoms that may not seem pertinent to the main complaint, but this information is important in understanding the underlying condition of the patients body – this in part is what makes Acupuncture a whole body treatment.
This will follow with palpation of the patients pulse, which details the energetic condition of the different organs in the body; and then palpation of different areas of the Abdomen, which can also give information on different organs.
After the diagnostic assessment, certain points on the body will be chosen by the practitioner to treat, into which they will insert very fine acupuncture needles.
Depending on the condition and what treatment options can help, various other treatment methods such as Moxibustion, Cupping and Massage can be implemented as well.
All styles, Japanese and TCM based Acupuncture, are vastly effective at treating most problematic conditions. The treatment style used on the patient depends greatly on their personal preference, the duration of the current complaint and the underlying patterns or conditions present
